Course Description:

The Get Started Operations and Finance Series focuses on building the foundation for a sound business platform. Topics covered include:

•· An introduction to Equine-based business operations and expenses and what makes it different from your typical service business

•· Initial budget and cash flow management tools to provide you with up front and ongoing costs of doing business

•· Success Measurement Criteria for assessing your business progress

•· How to successfully work with and retain volunteers

If you'd like to have the information you need to understand any form of equine-based ranch operations, how to budget and manage cash successfully, what to choose as measures of success for your business, and how to set up a volunteer program, this is the class for you.

Preparation Exercises and Word & Excel Templates

Easy to use tools are included in all classes so you can easily create your own budget/cash flow management tool, measure how successful your business is, and work successfully with volunteers.

Intended Audience: Starting or existing small to medium service-based or equine-based businesses (EAL/EAP/EGE/EFM, etc) that want a hands on approach to developing or improving their business

Course Description: A primer on experiential education and the facilitation process that provides context and framework for equine-based action learning. The concepts presented are primarily based on the book, Open to Outcome (O2O - reading is a course prerequisite). This course will provide a basic understanding of experiential facilitation for Equine Experiential Education (E3) programming, or other equine-based work with corporations, youth or individuals. This is the initial introduction into experiential facilitation and the training courses that follow reinforce and build upon this basic knowledge of facilitation.

Through an intensive small group 3 day practicum, class participants explore why horses, as co-facilitators, provide an experiential learning experience with value and benefits unlike any other, and how to facilitate those experiences. Takeaways include:

ARCORP1 Advanced Certification Seminar: Facilitating & Developing E3 Training Workshops (Thursday, August 30, 2012)

Course Description:

This course is a 3 day small group hands on process that provides an understanding of how to design and conduct an E3 Corporate Training program including techniques for developing a client proposal, team assessment, workshop design, conducting a workshop, and post-workshop summary report and client consulting. Develop a contextual understanding of corporate issues and best practices, learn about team maturity and the team change process, and how best to facilitate corporate individuals and teams in an E3 debrief. Gain experience with the StrengthsFinder assessment tool. Most important, get mentored hands-on experience facilitating E3 activities based on today’s corporate problems and how to use E3 programs solutions to improve the corporate workplace, its employee experience, team operations and communication.
